From my perspective, I applaud Meta’s decision to enable end-to-end encryption (E2EE) by default for all chats and calls on its Messenger app and Facebook platform. This move significantly enhances user privacy and security by ensuring that only the sender and recipient can read messages and calls, preventing unauthorized access even from Meta itself.

Before this change, E2EE was available as an optional feature in Messenger called “Secret Conversations.” However, enabling it by default eliminates the need for users to manually activate this important security feature, ensuring that all communication benefits from the highest level of encryption.

Key benefits of E2EE
